FLIST! It's been a while! I've been coming and reading entries, and keep telling myself I'm going to post "as soon as I have some time," but that never seems to happen. *rolls eyes at self*

I am sure there a million and one more things I could put here, but am drawing a blank. I find myself doing that more and more often...which is kind of sad, considering that two weeks from today, I will only be 34.
If you want an update on anything I haven't rambled about in this post already, please don't hesitate to ask! I want to get back into the habit of posting again, so hopefully it won't be so long a wait. ;)
EDIT: Dreamwidth People: Does anybody know why, when I move the mouse out of the entry box on the create entries beta page, the text in the box leaps upward? I don't mean the words switch places or anything, but the whole text body itself scrolls up each time I move the mouse out of the box, and never just stays where I left the damn cursor. I can even stop typing, move the mouse out, then back in and back out a couple times without typing at all, and it will keep scrolling up a bit with each movement in and out. I'll check the bug list thingy later, of course, but thought I'd pose the question here, just in case anyone has a quick, easy answer. ....I wonder if it does this from home. I'll have to check; at work I'm forced to use IE8, but use firefox at home.

thefridayfive doesn't have anything up yet, so I'm going to answer questions from Friday 5. And to be even more complicated, I'm going to answer Friday 5's questions from LAST week, because I don't have good answers for this week...( Mementos. )
Why bother?

Not only might I be fucked if they are adamant about wanting someone who is bilingual, but I found out yesterday that right now, they only want people WHO ARE ALREADY IN THAT JOB CLASS!! Which is shitty on several levels, the worst ones being "I did the job three years ago and did it really well" and "I should actually already be in that job class as a lead worker but no one, least of all the manager or HR, wanted to allow me to have the resultant wage increase because 'everybody's cutting back.'" If they don't get any suitable applicants who are already senior reps or bilingual, THEN I might have a shot. It's so unfair, I can't even--. *deep breaths*
And this WOMAN. Oh my God, I want to BITE HER. She thinks that now, since she's completely isolated me and made me her little prisoner, I can just get all that money posted within a few days and it'll be YAY ALL CAUGHT UP. Um, NO. Fuckwit. There are so many other things that have to be done first, this money won't all be posted until God knows when. It's not at your fucking, completely unreasonable demand, you kumquat-sucking, toad-licking bubble-fuck. AND THEN!! Judy comes up to me yesterday to ask me a question, and mentions that "Victoria asked me to help you with corporate accounts."
WHAT THE BLOODY FUCK?! asdf;lkj(&^$$#5!!!!!
This is happening with several people, who NO, CANNOT HELP ME! She's asking everyone for help for me, not telling me about any of it, and then refuses to help out other managers when they ask her. WHY DOES SHE STILL WORK HERE. *!&@%%$#^%!)@*#^!!!
I'm so jaded and so defeated, but I can't quit because I have a family to support. If it was just me, I'd go work two jobs at McDonald's and Barnes & Noble and just be done with it, but I can't do that to them, they need the security I can provide them, and the steady income.
If you (or someone you know) are within 25 miles of where I live and have a full-time, liveable-waged, benefit-earning position open, give me a call, hmm? Not that I want to be picky, but something finance- or administrative assistant-related would probably be a plus. I may not have that precious "degree" all these places keep harping on about, but I learn quickly and will work my arse off for you for little more than a paycheck and respect.

30-Day Meme - Day 24
Sep. 24th, 2010 11:03 amGod, I am not awake enough to be here today. I've been sitting at my desk all morning, listlessly looking up the info I need and printing here and there. I should have been done with this portion of it an hour and a half ago.
My dad was in Delaware with my grandpa for a month, and his train just got in last night. We went to pick him up, arrived at the train station around 10:45, 11:00. His train's arrival schedule kept getting pushed back and pushed back and pushed back, and it finally pulled in AT TWELVE THIRTY-FIVE.
Needless to say, we were not back home and in bed until about 1:30 this morning. Boychild is probably half asleep in school right now, I'm barely awake here...and lucky hubby gets to be home and napping all he likes, the bum. *shakes head, too tired to be really upset about it*

Sep. 20th, 2010 09:11 am1. We had such a lovely time at the casino. The food was delicious, the room was excellent, and the casino itself was pretty fun. We didn't win big, but neither did we expect to do so, which made it all the nicer. The only thing I disliked was the smoke, and that wore off quick enough after we left as Saturday progressed. We may do it again next year.
2. So apparently, last Friday, four people in IT walked off the job. I'm telling you, it's not just me who gets boned by this place on a daily basis. One of them was the guy who helped us best, so we're feeling the loss already. No one's quite sure what went down, but it wasn't pretty, and the resulting chaos is going to be a nightmare.

Sep. 17th, 2010 03:19 pmToday is my 10th wedding anniversary! I'm so proud of us, I just had to share. Tonight, Boychild will be sleeping at his grandparents' place and hubby and I are going to spend the night at the casino. We got a great deal on a really nice room, and it includes a $10 coupon to use toward dinner (because we are world-class cheap asses, this is a great thing), as well as a coupon that will give us $10 free if we spend $10 in the casino. We don't know if we'll bother with that part or not, but it's cool to have if we do. Hour and a half, and we go! So excited!

Boychild turned TWELVE on Saturday. He came barreling into our room at 7:30 AM and took a flying leap into the middle of our bed with a shriek and, "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!" This was immediately followed by hugging us both and squeezing his eyes shut and grinning like an idiot while saying, "I'm finally twelve!"
So of course, we promptly wrestled him down and performed the obligatory birthday spankings, during which he shrieked and giggled and squirmed and thrashed as best he could. Then he launched himself back off the bed and went to make himself some pancakes and sausage (we surprised him with one of those microwaveable breakfast things, he's been dying to try one), and ate it in front of the television.
Let me tell you, he milked that "it's my birthday" thing for all it was worth!
We took him and his friends, Tim and Levi, to Grand Slam for a few hours, where they were able to wear themselves out playing lazer tag, bumper cars, mini golf, batting cages and the arcade. Then we went back home for chocolate cupcakes made fresh that morning by moi, and opened a few presents. His grandparents took us for dinner, and we relaxed at home after that.
It felt like a crazy busy day, but looking at it from a couple days away, it was probably one of his calmer birthdays!

Played a game of Harry Potter Clue this evening; hubby was about to beat me for the first time ever, but missed by ONE CARD...which I had in my hand. *dies laughing* And so I remain the Clue queen in our little circle - but barely, if you believe him. "I should've gone with my gut!" I think he should've gone with "confirming his beliefs with another round," but ahh, well. XD.
Also played a game of Yahtzee. I won that, too, but I had my ass handed to me the last time I played it, so-. ;)
Now watching A New Hope and fiddling around here before bed. Darth Vader's about to kill Obi Wan. And I think it's ridiculously hilarious that those characters are such icons that spell check doesn't underline their names in red! LOL!
Holiday tomorrow, so no work - WOOT! I love short weeks, especially when I also have Tuesday off. ;) Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!
